SPARTACUS: Blood and Sand ...

After being totally addicted to the TV series "24", I was among the people who actually wept when Joel Surnow and Robert Cochran concluded the 8th season ending the thrilling action series staring starring Kiefer Sutherland as federal agent Jack Bauer, presented in the semblance of real time, with each 24-episode season covering 24 hours in the life of Bauer.

However, then I came across this totally new TV series "SPARTACUS: Blood and Sand". It was very similar to the series I had previously watched, the "ROME" which was about the turbulent transition from Roman republic to autocratic empire, which changed world history through civil war and wars of conquest, from the aristocratic viewpoint of Julius Caesar, his family, his adopted successor Octavian Augustus, and their political allies and adversaries, and from the politically naive viewpoint of a few ordinary Romans, notably the soldiers Lucius Vorenus and Titus Pullo and their families.

However, "Spartacus: Blood and Sand" is a Starz television series that premiered on January 22, 2010. The series focuses on the historical figure of Spartacus(played by Andy Whitfield), a Thracian gladiator who from 73 to 71 BC led a major slave uprising against the Roman Republic. Executive producers Steven S. DeKnight and Robert Tapert focused on structuring the events of Spartacus' obscure early life leading to the records of history.

Already the first season of this thrilling Historical story is over with 13 episodes of breathtaking action and romance. Waiting for the primer of the next season.

Some legends are written in blood.
