Kulhi Kakuni, or Mangrove Crabs play a significant role in sustaining a healthy mangrove ecosystem. Crabs are considered ecosystem engineers that have important impacts on energy flow and in the structure and chemistry of sediment (Kristensen, 2008).
Adduans have called these crabs "Gobili Kakidi and some even call it "Rehaakuru Kakidi".
